Ivy College names professor director of Supply Chain Forum
Peter Ralston, an associate professor of supply chain management, has been named director of the Supply Chain Forum at the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University. The forum gathers members to provide resources to students and allow members to exchange insights to improve supply chain operations. Their support provides for scholarships, study-abroad experiences, faculty research and more, a news release said. The eight current members of the Ivy Supply Chain Forum are Cargill Inc., Corteva Agriscience, Danfoss, Iowa Department of Transportation, Kent Corp., Land O’Lakes Inc., Ruan Transportation and Travero Inc. The forum began in 2018 with the goal of building upon an existing commitment to private industry, the release said. In 2019, the Department of Supply Chain Management within the college was created. Iowa State is the only university in Iowa to house a department focused on supply chain management, the release said. Ralston has been a member of the college’s faculty since 2018. More information about the forum is available on its website. Ralston can be contacted at pralston@iastate.edu.
