IWD names Schoonover as workforce services manager

Iowa Workforce Development announced that Ted Schoonover

has been hired as the new Workforce Services manager. In this position, Schoonover (pronounced SKOON-OVER) will oversee a number of programs, among them the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act; Adult, Youth and Dislocated Worker programs; Promise Jobs and Work Opportunity Tax Credit programs. He will also assist with the statewide implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. A 25-year U.S. Army veteran, Schoonover served in a number of different leadership roles before retiring at the rank of sergeant first class. He most recently was city clerk and administrator of Caledonia, Minn. Schoonover previously worked as county auditor of Montgomery County and served for six years as mayor of Red Oak.
