Keep Iowa Beautiful has chosen Jasper County as its next Hometown Pride location. The community development program is designed to assist clusters of communities. In Jasper County, Baxter, Colfax, Lynnville, Monroe, Newton, Prairie City and Sully are participating. The program offers leadership training, youth service learning and education centered on assisting communities in community improvement projects that will enhance cultural and economic vitality. Previous locations for the program were in Louisa, Fremont and Pocahontas counties, and the Des Moines Capitol Neighborhoods. Read more
