Name: Jeff Russell

New position: Russell was named CEO of TMG Financial Services on Oct. 31, after helping form the company in 2007 and serving as executive vice president. In this new role, he will oversee the strategic direction and growth of the company, which works with credit unions to provide credit card services, such as purchasing credit card receivables and issuing cards to members. Russell also will continue to serve on the executive team of TMG Financial’s parent company, The Members Group.

Vitals: Russell began working for The Members Group in 1994 and has served in various roles, including marketing, technology and product development.

Job one: With troubles in the financial industry causing some large banks to leave the credit card market, Russell sees an opportunity for TMG Financial to gain some business. “I think the people we talk to, financial institutions, credit unions, are taking a look at what they do best and looking to find partners for things that they don’t necessarily have the scale or size to do,” he said. “We want to make sure we provide a great members service and we really are able to fill a niche there.”
