New York Times:U.S. employers added 266,000 jobs in April, the government reported today, far below what economists had expected and a dramatic slowdown from March’s rapid hiring pace. The jobless rate rose slightly to 6.1%. Economists had forecast an addition of about a million jobs, which would have been the biggest gain since August. The increase for March was revised down to 770,000 from 916,000.
