Jim Clark

The Johnston City Council voted Monday night to appoint Jim Clark as chief of the Johnston-Grimes Metropolitan Fire Department. A search committee selected Clark, who currently is administrative assistant fire chief of the Sioux City Fire Rescue Department. Clark’s extensive experience and collaborative management style were key factors in his selection, Johnston City Administrator Jim Sanders said in a release. Clark also is the emergency management coordinator for Sioux City and has also completed the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy. He will begin work in Johnston on Oct. 17. Johnston and Grimes have shared fire services since 2007.
