Adam Ostert has been hired as the city of Johnston’s new building official.

Adam Ostert has been hired as the city of Johnston’s new building official. Ostert replaces Doug Sandvig, who recently retired. Ostert previously worked for the city of Ames as an inspector, plans examiner and assistant building official. Before working for Ames, he was a master electrician. He has a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University. Ostert, whose annual salary is $93,000, started his new job with the city of Johnston on Monday.
