A joint conference of the Iowa Rural Health Association and Midwest Rural Agricultural Safety and Health will be held in Marshalltown. The conference is set for Nov. 13-14 with the theme “Reframe, Refocus, Rebuild.” Marshalltown, a city of about 30,000, was hit by an EF3 tornado in July 2018, and leaders will share best practices from recovery thus far. Keynote panels and breakout sessions will focus on emergency and disaster response in rural areas, lasting health and safety impacts of emergencies and disasters, building emergency response plans, and current issues in mental and behavioral health. The conference is open to anyone interested in rural or agricultural health and safety. Registration is open until Nov. 5.
