West Des Moines Community Schools’ Jordan Creek Elementary has earned Lighthouse School certification from FranklinCovey, joining 11 other Lighthouse schools in Iowa and 519 worldwide.  The certification is a significant benchmark for schools in the Leader in Me program, which Jordan Creek Elementary first implemented in the 2015-16 school year. The FranklinCovey program is a “whole-school transformation process” that focuses on development in three areas— culture, leadership and academics — and teaches “21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.”
