After being on the market an average of 66 days, 1,389 homes sold last month, compared with 1,194 a year ago. The number of days houses were on the market dropped from 71 in May and 79 in June 2014. Pending sales rose to 1,336 last month from 1,144 a year ago. The median sale price dropped slightly to $178,500 from $179,00, but remained above last year’s number. Though home sales advanced on a year-to-year basis, they dropped from May, when 1,509 houses were sold. The number of houses listed for sale increased slightly from May, but remained below last year’s level. Robin Polder, president of the DMAAR, said in a release that the increase could be due in part to a recent consolidation with the Marion County, Newton and Raccoon Valley Realtors groups.
