Junior Achievement of Central Iowa received a $15,000 grant from Variety – the Children’s Charity that allowed nearly 200 students to experience JA BizTown this school year. The contribution gave students within the Des Moines Public School district the opportunity to take part in the program. Junior Achievement of Central Iowa is a nonprofit organization serving K-12 students in Central Iowa with financial literacy, entrepreneurship and career readiness programs that are used in classrooms through a network of volunteers who work virtually or on-site at JA BizTown and JA Finance Park. “We are grateful for Variety’s loyal support of JA BizTown,” said Ryan Osborn, president of Junior Achievement of Central Iowa. “These funds inspire students to become responsible business owners, consumers and citizens.” Variety is dedicated to improving the lives of children who are underprivileged, at risk, critically ill or living with special needs.
