KDSM to be sold as part of Sinclair’s acquisition of Tribune Media
Associated Press/Des Moines Register: Sinclair Broadcast Group will sell nine TV stations, including KDSM of Des Moines, to Standard Media Group for $441.7 million as part of its plan to meet regulatory approval for its pending $3.9 billion acquisition of Tribune Media. KDSM is the Central Iowa market’s Fox affiliate. The announcement appears to signal that WHO, which is owned by Tribune, would become part of Sinclair. In a move related to the Sinclair-Tribune acquisition, Meredith Corp. of Des Moines has announced that it will purchase KPLR of St. Louis.
