Kidder Benefits acquires Lane & Associates

Kidder Benefits Consultants, a pension consulting and administration firm based in West Des Moines, has acquired Lane & Associates, a West Des Moines-based actuarial firm. Doug Lane, former principal of Lane & Associates, will be president of the new entity, Kidder-Lane Actuarial Services LLC, a subsidiary of Kidder Benefits. In addition to serving Kidder clients, the new firm will continue to provide actuarial services to outside third-party pension administrators and individual plan sponsors. The two companies have worked together for nearly 15 years, said Keith Gredys, chairman and CEO of Kidder Benefits. Lane has retained an ownership interest in the actuarial business.
