Bill Kimberley, founder and president of Ankeny-based Kimberley Development Corp., has launched Progressive Builders, a line of affordably priced single-family houses and townhomes that will be built in Central Iowa communities. Progressive Builders joins Kimberley’s other services that include community and land development, commercial property development, and homebuilding businesses including Benchmark Builders.

Progressive Builders’ line of home styles and layouts will offer a selection of “quality crafted homes in the Central Iowa area for a larger market of buyers including single-family homeowners, those seeking townhome options, and those looking for new home options in growing communities,” according to a news release.

The new homes will be available beginning this summer in Brook Landing in northeast Des Moines, Carlisle Commons in Carlisle, Deer Run in Mitchellville, Grand Ridge Estates in Van Meter, Harvest Meadows in Bondurant and Kimberley Crossing in Ankeny.

“We continue to hear from our realtors and buyers the market is missing affordability and with Progressive Builders we are able to bring that product into Central Iowa as new homes and not just resales,” Jordan Kramer, Kimberley Development’s chief financial officer, said in a prepared statement.

Kimberley began building houses and developing residential plats in the Des Moines area in 1978. In 2021, he was presented with the Lloyd E. Clark Lifetime Achievement Award by the Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines.
