Krupp: 5 reasons 2016 will be a banner year for environment
Fred Krupp, head of the nonprofit Environmental Defense Fund, wrote in a blog that 2016 will be a banner year for the environment for five reasons:
- The Paris Agreement was like firing a starter’s pistol in the race to do something about climate change.
- Clean energy markets are ramping up.
- The corporate world is becoming more involved in cutting emissions.
- Investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy is rising.
- Market-based work to benefit wildlife and the environment on a large scale is getting more ambitious. This includes conservation projects on working land and the expansion of fishing rights management programs in the oceans.
