Kum & Go sues software company
Kum & Go LC says in a federal lawsuit that it is owed $208,898 in fees under a contract it terminated with a Florida software company that provided payroll and other services to the West Des Moines-based convenience store operator. Kum & Go said that under an agreement signed last year with Empower Software Solutions Inc. of Orlando, it could terminate the contract within the first year of service with full reimbursement of fees. The contract was signed Nov. 24, 2010, and Kum & Go notified Empower in June that it wanted to end the agreement effective July 23. The lawsuit was filed Aug. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa in Des Moines.
