Labor Department grant to assess newly unemployed Iowans

The money is targeted toward providing re-employment and eligibility assessments for the newly unemployed, according to a news release. It will help finance in-person assessments to develop individualized re-employment plans; provide labor market information specific to the individual’s location, job skills and employment prospects; and review the person’s eligibility for unemployment benefits and eligibility for services or training at the American Job Center.
