Lauber was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Rebecca Ebinger as district judge to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. Lauber, 37, of West Des Moines, currently serves as district associate judge for Polk County. Before her appointment, she served as an assistant public defender. Lauber received her bachelor’s and law degrees from Drake University.
