One of four teams within this year’s Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute’s Community Leadership Program has partnered with Youth Emergency Shelter and Services to better the nonprofit’s ability to serve kids in need. For the team’s project, it will completely furnish all four units — or 32 bedrooms in total — that YESS is adding to its Des Moines facility as part of a major expansion project. The Leadership Institute team is seeking in-kind donations from individuals and businesses for the project. Items needed include pillows, twin-size bedding, bath towels and more. Donors can choose to shop online by using YESS’ Amazon wish list.They can also make cash donations.
