A version of the plan to increase high-speed Internet in rural Iowa, which was supported by Gov. Terry Branstad and many in the business community, was approved by legislators in the final days of the the 2015 session, reports DesMoinesRegister.com. The bill provides incentives through property tax abatement and establishes a framework for a grants program, but it doesn’t immediately provide any state money for grants.
