Leisha Barcus joins Science Center of Iowa

The Science Center of Iowa recently named Leisha Barcus as the organization’s new vice president of community engagement.

Barcus, who joined the science center on Nov. 26, will lead the organization in listening, interacting and partnering with the community, as well as all fundraising efforts.

Barcus has more than 15 years of project management experience in government, nonprofit and service industries. She most recently was employed by Kum & Go LC, where she managed multiple cross-departmental projects.

The Davenport native has led a number of statewide initiatives, including the restoration of Hoyt Sherman Place Theater and Art Gallery in Des Moines.
