Lifespace Communities acquires retirement community in Milwaukee suburb

Lifespace Communities announced that it has acquired Newcastle Place, a continuing care retirement community in Mequon, Wis., a suburb of Milwaukee. With the acquisition, West Des Moines-based Lifespace Communities now has 16 continuing care communities under its management. Newcastle Place, which has 257 residences on 52 acres, was previously owned and managed by Life Care Services, a division of LCS in Des Moines, according to the Newcastle Place website. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. “We believe Newcastle is a great fit for Lifespace as we share similar values and organizational cultures,” Lifespace President and CEO Jesse Jantzen said in a press release. “As a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing extraordinary care and service, we are furthering our passion and commitment of celebrating the lives of seniors by welcoming a very strong community into the Lifespace family.” With retirement communities in nine states, Lifespace serves more than 5,100 residents and employs more than 3,900 team members.
