June 7: June Coffee Connection

About: Join FemCity Des Moines for the group’s June Coffee Connection. This event is come-and-go as you please and informal in nature. Stop by to meet women in a wide variety of industries and stages in business while enjoying a morning coffee to start your day. An RSVP is required.

June 7: First Friday with Ying Sa
Host: Iowa Center for Economic Success
About: Each First Friday, attendees will hear the stories of savvy, successful business owners and entrepreneurs. In a laid-back environment, catch words of wisdom from women and men who have been through it before. This month’s First Friday will feature Ying Sa, CEO and managing partner at Community CPA.

June 8: Women of Achievement Awards Ceremony
Host: Women Lead Change
About: The 2019 Women of Achievement Awards celebration will honor Theresa “Billee” Davis, Willie Stevenson Glanton and Ola Babcock Miller. The three honorees, chosen from 29 historical women, will be commemorated with permanent plaques on the Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge. Purchase tickets online.

June 11: East Village Sip & Stroll
Host: NAWBO Iowa
About: Join others for an afternoon stroll through the East Village to visit the shops of some hardworking women business owners. Light refreshments will be provided. The cost is $20.

June 12: WLN Annual Connect Experience
Host: Dubuque Women’s Leadership Network
About: Combining the group’s two signature events, the Annual Conference and Golf Outing, this event will be one day of connecting. Attendees can choose to participate the entire day, or just the morning or afternoon. Rebekah Gregory, Boston Marathon bombing survivor, will speak.

June 14: Leap #4 – Implicit Bias
Host: Downtown Des Moines Chamber
About: The fourth event of the 2019 Leadership and Education Advancement Pipeline will focus on implicit bias, and will feature select panelist. The cost to attend is $35 for chamber members and $50 for nonmembers.
