LightEdge to serve hospital network

LightEdge Solutions announced that it has completed network connections that will allow hospitals and clinics to access its cloud computing services through Iowa Health System’s HealthNet connect (HNc) fiber-optic network. The 3,200-mile fiber optic network provides services to Iowa Health System’s 11 largest hospitals and some network rural hospitals, operating at a 99.999 percent reliability rate and processing more than 8 million transactions per day. Network members will be able to access secure, managed cloud services such as virtual servers, data storage and backup from LightEdge’s data center located in Altoona, the company said. Lightedge also announced it has been selected as the data center to house the infrastructure for the state’s health information exchange.
