Long leaves Mid-America Group to join Seedorff
Bradley Long has left Mid-America Group to become vice president of regional operations at Seedorff Masonry Inc.
Long had been with Mid-America since 2003, and in February 2008, became executive vice president of Mid-America Group and president of Grubb & Ellis/Mid-America Commercial.
Long now will focus on Seedorff’s operations in Des Moines, with a specific focus on improved efficiencies, best practices and building client relationships. His role eventually will expand to include developing a comprehensive business development strategy for all of Seedorff’s markets.
“Real estate is obviously difficult right now,” Long said, “and this is an opportunity that came to me.”
His past experience includes working for Maytag Corp., International Paper Co. and various positions for the city of Grimes.
Long said Larry Cedarstrom, whom he replaced as president in 2008, was expected to fill Long’s role at Mid-America until a new president is named. Mid-America Group did not immediately return calls for comment.
According to Engineering News-Record, Seedorff Masonry was the sixth-largest masonry contractor in the United States in 2008. It operates throughout the upper Midwest, with headquarters in Strawberry Point, Iowa, and regional operations in Des Moines, Omaha, Lincoln, Neb., and the Quad Cities.
