Gov. Terry Branstad on Tuesday appointed James Ellefson, a Marshalltown attorney, as a district court judge for the 2B Judicial District. Ellefson, 60, an attorney with Moore, McKibben, Goodman, Lorenz & Ellefson LLP, was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Carl Baker. Ellefson received his law degree from Drake University with honors and was admitted to the bar in 1977.
