Eastern Communications Ltd. has announced the acquisition of Racom Corp., a provider of emergency communications services and technology based in Marshalltown. The acquisition creates one of the largest service and distribution platforms in the critical-communications industry, with 16 service locations from Seattle to New York City. The two companies share cultural values, they said in announcing the deal. The acquisition will also create a platform capable of service, support and integration nationwide. Eastern Communications is based in New York City. Terms of the deal were not announced.
