The Master Builders of Iowa announced it is accepting applications from eligible schools and nonprofit organizations for its annual MBI-WORKS Endowment. Launched in 2019 with funding of $5 million, the MBI-WORKS Endowment was created to offer resources to complement career education and workforce recruitment into the Iowa commercial construction industry. “The MBI-WORKS Endowment is an exciting initiative that creates awareness of the tremendous potential for excellent careers in commercial construction,” said Beth Townsend, director of Iowa Workforce Development and a current MBI-WORKS Endowment board member. In the past two years, money from the endowment has leveraged more than $1.3 million in workforce recruitment efforts. The open period for accepting applications will run through Sept. 3. The request for proposals is available now through MBI’s website.
