Master plan for Heritage Park approved
The Urbandale Planning & Zoning Commission on Aug. 27 approved a master plan for the Heritage Park commercial development north of Hickman Road just west of Interstate 35/80. The plat for the property, approved earlier in August, proposes 11 buildable lots, ranging approximately from one to four acres and one lot of 17.5 acres for a new Lifetime Fitness health and fitness club. The owner, S & S Heritage Park LLC, asked for some modifications to signage for the park, saying developers want to be able to attract hotels to the site and wanted the sign to be large enough for motorists to be able to see the hotels from the interstate. The property had been part of Living History Farms until recently, according to Urbandale Planning & Zoning Commission minutes.
