Matovina named CEO of American Equity

American Equity and Investment Life Holding Co. has named a new CEO.

The company announced Wednesday that John Matovina will take over as president and CEO.

Matovina previously served as chief financial officer and treasurer and was serving as interim CEO while Wendy Waugaman took a medical leave of absence. Waugaman, the previous CEO and president, died on June 18 from cancer.
