May named judge in state court district serving Polk County

Gov. Terry Branstad has appointed David May as judge in Judicial District 5C, which consists of Polk County. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Robert Hutchison.

 
May, 44, of Polk City, has been in private practice. He also serves as a lecturer at the Annual Fire Investigation School for the Iowa Fire Service Training Bureau and has served as an instructor for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  

May received his undergraduate degree from University of Missouri-Columbia in 1993, his Master of Public Health degree from University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 1995 and his law degree from Drake University Law School in 1998.
