Meals from the Heartland is hosting the Hy-Vee Cup at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Merle Hay Mall. The Hy-Vee Cup is an opportunity for teams from local businesses to participate in a friendly competition while they package food for the Des Moines Area Religious Council’s Food Pantry. Teams include the Iowa Soybean Association, Deere & Co., Sigler/Innova, Pioneer Hi Bred International Inc., Kreg Tool, Hy-Vee Inc. and the Special Olympics. This event kicks off the Meals from the Heartland Annual Hunger Fight, Aug. 29 to Sept. 1 at Hy-Vee Hall. More information can be found at www.mealsfromtheheartland.org.
