Iowa health care providers will continue to be paid fully for treating Medicaid patients for the first three months of 2016, whether or not they have signed contracts with new managed care companies, Gov. Terry Branstad announced Monday. The decision came amid controversy over whether Branstad is moving too quickly to shift more than 500,000 poor or disabled Iowans to insurance plans run by for-profit companies by Jan. 1. Most Iowa doctors and hospitals have not yet signed contracts with the managed care companies, reports DesMoinesRegister.com.
