Mercy Clinics Inc. and Stanbrough Development are preparing to break ground for a two-story, 21,000-square-foot addition to Mercy East at 5900 E. University Ave. in Pleasant Hill. The Clinic is currently home to Mercy East Family Practice, Pediatrics and Urgent Care Clinic.

Mercy East opened at its current location just two years ago. The addition is expected to be completed next spring. At that time, Mercy East Family Practice and Urgent Care will expand to occupy the current building, and Mercy East Pediatrics and Physical Therapy will move into the new space. The Iowa Orthopaedic Center will also be adding a permanent office within the expansion. Additional space may be filled with physician office space, imaging or other sub-specialty services.

A formal groundbreaking for the Mercy East addition will be held on June 27 at 10 a.m.
