MercyOne Des Moines names Goetz, Anderson to leadership roles

Kathy Goetz has been named market vice president of Women’s Services and MercyOne Children’s Hospital, and Dr. Tara Andersen has been appointed physician dyad leader. In her new role, Goetz will be responsible for the leadership and direction of MercyOne Children’s Hospital and MercyOne Maternity & Infants’ Care. She was previously the administrator of MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center from 2014 through July 2018, and was also interim chief nursing officer. Andersen joined MercyOne Children’s Hospital in 2008 as a pediatric hospitalist. She has been medical director of the Pediatric Inpatient Unit and pediatric hospitalists and was chair of the Department of Pediatrics. Andersen also had oversight of the Newborn Nursery as its medical director. MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center uses the health care dyad leadership model to benefit from the business strengths of administrators and the clinical expertise of physicians.
