Meredith chairman seeks permission to bid on Sinclair television stations

Speaking at a media convention, Lacy said he would formally ask the board of directors for bidding permission later in the day. Sinclair has announced plans to divest stations in at least eight markets to comply with Federal Communications Commission rules on media ownership, as Sinclair finishes a $3.9 billion purchase of Tribune Media, the Des Moines Register reports.
