Meta Altoona Data Center announces community grants to local groups

(Meta previously was known as Facebook Inc.) The grants total more than $200,000. The grant program was created to address needs in eastern Polk County and for improving STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education. Recipients and grant amounts include Altoona Area Historical Society ($12,000), Altoona Campus ($4,150), Altoona Public Library ($10,500), Bondurant Community Foundation ($4,100), Bondurant Community Library Foundation ($20,000), Bondurant-Farrar school district ($40,000), city of Mitchellville ($7,650), city of Pleasant Hill ($14,000), Delaware Elementary School ($11,000), Four Mile Elementary School ($10,500), Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa ($10,000), Iowa PBS Education ($10,000), Science Center of Iowa ($16,750), Southeast Polk school district ($30,350), and Altoona Kids Cafe & Swerve Outreach ($9,000).
