MetaBank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Meta Financial Group Inc., announced that Kathy Thorson has been named its new community banking president. Thorson, who has been with MetaBank for 17 years, will oversee MetaBank’s market presidents in its three markets outside Sioux Falls — Brookings, S.D., central Iowa and northwest Iowa — and will be responsible for leading business strategy in all four markets. She will continue as market president of the Sioux Falls market. “Kathy has led remarkable growth in assets and profits in Sioux Falls and is the perfect leader to guide the community banking division to its next successful chapter,” said J.
