Metro Waste Authority now accepting old computers free of charge
Metro Waste Authority has partnered with Goodwill Industries International Inc. to accept computers and computer accessories at no cost.
Residents can drop the items off at the Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off, 1105 Prairie Drive S.W., Bondurant, free of charge. Electronic items, however, still have a 50-cent-per-pound fee, which includes televisions, radios and other gadgets.
“By partnering with Goodwill’s Dell Reconnect Program, we no longer pay the cost to ship these items for de-manufacturing,” said Judi Mendenhall, Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off facility manager.
