MidAmerican Energy buys land from Bridgestone
MidAmerican Energy Co. plans to build an electrical substation on land previously owned by Bridgestone tire company, records show.
Des Moines-based MidAmerican Energy paid Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC just over $1 million for property in the vicinity of 4600 N.W. Second St. in unincorporated Polk County, Polk County real estate records show.
The Des Moines City Council and Plan and Zoning Commission in April approved the preliminary plat Firestone Plat 1pp. MidAmerican Energy plans on developing a substation on 3.2 acres of the nearly 80 acres occupied by the Bridgestone Agricultural Tire Plant, city documents show.
