MidAmerican promotes low-cost fluorescent bulbs
MidAmerican Energy Co. is encouraging businesses and residences in Iowa to participate in the Be Bright campaign, which through Dec. 16 offers special pricing on Energy Star-qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) at area retailers. According to MidAmerican, replacing one incandescent light bulb with a CFL can save an average of $30 or more in energy costs over the life of the bulb and can prevent more than 450 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.
