MidAmerican purchases wind projects
MidAmerican Wind, a subsidiary of MidAmerican Renewables whose parent company is MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co., announced that it has completed the acquisition of two wind energy projects from California Highwind Power, a subsidiary of Terra-Gen Power LLC.
MidAmerican has acquired the 132-megawatt Alta Wind IX project and the 68-megawatt Alta Wind VII project.
The two projects are located near Tehachapi, Calif., and bring the MidAmerican portfolio to include more than 1,250 megawatts of owned renewable energy assets in operation or under construction.
