Midwest manufacturing declined in October

Midwest manufacturing activity dropped 1.2 percent in October, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, which also said that revised numbers show a 0.6 percent decline in manufacturing in September. Automobile production held steady in October, while all other sectors, including machinery, declined. Output, as measured by hours worked, rose 5.9 percent last month.
