Suzanne Mineck will leave her position as president and CEO of Mid-Iowa Health Foundation this fall, the foundation announced today. Her departure is intended to allow a new leader to take the helm of the grant-making organization that is focused on improving children’s health in Central Iowa, the organization said in a news release. Mineck, who has led the nonprofit for more than a decade, announced her resignation as its board wrapped up a yearlong strategic visioning process that affirmed investing in system-level strategies focused on addressing the social determinants of health. The grant-making organization invests in efforts and leaders who “connect, create and transform our systems to address complex root causes of poor health.” Chris Cook, chair of the foundation’s board said: “Suzanne Mineck has driven our community to think bigger and bolder about how we can create opportunities for all children to thrive. She has leveraged the grant-making power of the foundation far beyond the dollars given to initiatives by convening partners, asking why to get at root causes for problems, and setting a vision for what can be accomplished together. Her tremendous leadership has set up the organization and its partners to continue to make a difference for children’s health in the years ahead.” Mid-Iowa Health Foundation’s board has formed a search committee and will release details about the application process in the next few weeks. To ensure a smooth transition, Mineck will remain in her role until after a successor begins. Mineck was recently chosen as one of the Business Record’s 2021 Women of Influence.
