Moneyrates ranks Iowa fourth-best for millennials
An analysis by Moneyrates ranked Iowa among the top five states in the country for millennials. The study took into account eight factors, including unemployment rates for young adults, the in-state cost of four-year public colleges, availability of residential rentals, as well as availability of high-speed Internet and the number of bars per 1,000 young people. Iowa’s unemployment rate among young adults of just 5.8 percent is Iowa’s greatest strength in this study, although the state also does fairly well in most other categories. Two exceptions were a mediocre score for internet connectivity, and a well-below-average score for rental availability. Other rural states, led by North Dakota, topped the rankings, followed by South Dakota, Nebraska and Montana. Washington state was ranked the worst state for millennials.
