McGowen, Hurst, Clark & Smith PC has promoted Wendy Moran from director to partner overseeing assurance within the firm. She assumed the new role last month and will continue to work from the firm’s West Des Moines office. Moran, a certified public accountant with 15 years of experience, joined the firm in 2015. She is among a group of eight partners and will continue to specialize in audits, reviews, agreed-upon procedures and consulting engagements related to financial statements and controls. The firm works with more than 5,300 clients among several different industries including transportation, nonprofit, distribution and contractors on which Moran will focus her time.
