More young people are underemployed
More 18- to 29-year-olds in the U.S. work force were underemployed than a year ago, according to Gallup.
Thirty-two percent of workers in the age range were underemployed in April, up from 30.1 percent in March and 30.7 percent a year ago.
The results are based on Gallup daily tracking interviews conducted with 28,215 Americans throughout April, including 2,864 respondents in the 18- to 29-year-old age range. The underemployment measure combines the unemployed with those working part time but looking for full-time work.
