Mortgage problems top consumer complaints
Mortgage debt and credit card debt complaints made up the majority of complaints filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in its first 11 months, according to Housingwire.com.
Mortgage debt accounted for 43 percent of complaints out of the total 55,300 received.
The majority of mortgage debt complaints were related to problems with loan modifications, debt collection and foreclosure, according to Housingwire. Credit card complaints made up 34 percent of the total.
