On the MPO’s website, the public can view the “High-Risk Network” and the “High-Injury Network” maps, and share the most important safety improvements that need to be made. Comments will be collected through Oct. 18. The plan aims to guide local transportation planning leaders in making investments and changes that will eliminate traffic-related fatal and serious injuries over time, a news release said. The safety plan was made possible with an $800,000 planning grant from the Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Program of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Public comment on the MPO’s 25-year transportation plan is also open through Oct. 23.
