The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will hold a public meeting on Sept. 13 to release its “The Tomorrow Plan,” which is designed to lead to sustainable development in Des Moines.

The plan will consider housing, land use, economic development, transportation and the environment.

The project is being funded with a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and with nearly $1.1 million in leveraged local funds, the MPO said.

The Sept. 13 meeting will be an open house from 4 to 8 p.m. in the State Historical Building. For a related Business Record story, click here.
